XAGA FOSC fiber optic splice closures combine Tyco Electronic’s SuperSleeve sealing technology and versatile FOSC 400 fiber management system. The product is intended primarily for direct-buried splices and can be used anywhere a reliable, secure enclosure is required.

XAGA FOSC closures are designed for reel-end splices, branch splices, repair splices, and cable restoration. The closures have taut sheath capabilities and are available in several sizes and configurations. They can be used with any common cable construction and meet the same sealing specifications as the XAGA 1650 series of direct-buried copper closures. All XAGA FOSC closures can store expressed loose buffer tubes and stranded fiber with no additional components.

The XAGA FOSC A1 closure is designed for field splicing drops to distribution cables when storage of slack fiber is required. Bond wire and strength member attachments are provided for each cable. Options include external ground wires and flash test valves.

The XAGA FOSC B1 and B2 closures are for splicing fiber optic cables together at reel ends or branch points. Each closure will accept up to six cables and can be installed in a butt or in-line configuration.

The XAGA FOSC B2 closure has a double tray bank (B indicates the fiber organizer tray size, and 2 indicates two tray banks). The two tray banks double the splice capacity within the same diameter closure.

The XAGA FOSC B2 extension kit is used to extend an XAGA FOSC B2 closure. The length of the B2 closure can be varied to provide virtually any length of sheath opening that may be required to splice into a taut-sheath cable or to span a long area of damaged cable.
